This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard information when you visit and interact with our marketing website (the “Site”). It should be read alongside our Cookie Policy.

Use of the iQ application (www.iq-app.co.uk) and the iQ Platform is governed separately under our Master Services Agreement (MSA) and Data Processing Addendum (DPA). This Policy does not cover Content you upload to, or activity within, the Platform.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the Site and respond to enquiries:

  • Waitlist & sign-up data: name, work email, organisation, role (where you provide it) when you join our waitlist or request early access.
  • Contact & enquiry data: name, email and any information you include when you message us via contact forms, sales enquiries or support channels.
  • Newsletter & marketing data: email address and engagement data (opens, clicks) where you have opted in.
  • Site usage data: device/browser information, IP address (which we may truncate), referring URL, pages viewed, timestamps and basic interaction events for analytics, performance and security.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for full detail.

No special categories by design. We do not seek health, biometric, genetic, payment card numbers or other special category data through the Site. Please do not submit such data via contact forms or other Site channels.

How we use your information

  • Operate and maintain the Site (load pages, secure the service, prevent abuse).
  • Respond to enquiries you send us via contact, sales or waitlist forms.
  • Manage the iQ waitlist and onboarding communications for users who have requested early access.
  • Send marketing communications (newsletters, product updates) where you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Measure and improve the Site using aggregated and de-identified analytics, A/B tests and performance diagnostics.
  • Comply with legal obligations (record-keeping, responding to lawful requests).

Legal bases (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

  • Contract/steps prior to a contract — to respond to your enquiries, manage your waitlist application, and provide information you have requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Site secure, understand how visitors use it, and improve our marketing (balanced against your rights).
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies, marketing emails and any tracking that requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — for record-keeping and compliance requirements.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share information only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, analytics, email delivery, CRM, error monitoring) under contract and confidentiality.
  • Legal authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • Corporate events such as mergers or acquisitions, subject to appropriate safeguards.

A current list of providers is available on request.

International transfers

Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), plus supplementary measures where needed.

Data retention

  • Waitlist data: retained until you are onboarded to the Platform, you ask us to remove you, or it is no longer needed for the purpose collected.
  • Contact / enquiry data: retained for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up and record-keeping.
  • Marketing data: retained until you withdraw consent or it is no longer needed.
  • Analytics & log data: retained for limited periods consistent with our security and analytics needs (see our Cookie Policy for cookie-specific durations).

Data submitted to or generated within the iQ Platform itself is governed by the retention terms in the MSA / DPA, not this Policy.

Your rights

Where UK/EU GDPR applies, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent (e.g., for marketing or cookies) at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@impossible-question.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO.

Security

We employ technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, vulnerability management and regular backups. Detailed Platform-level security controls are described in the Security Overview that forms part of our MSA.

Children

Our Site and services are not directed to children. Please do not submit personal data of children through the Site.

Cookies & tracking

See our Cookie Policy for details on categories, consent, retention and controls. In the UK/EEA, non-essential cookies are off by default until you opt in.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified (e.g., by a notice on the Site or by email) with at least 30 days’ notice where required.
